DIY Rose Water & Rose Oil

June 06, 2017

Since I post it on my insta story when I'm doing my own DIY rose water and rose oil yesterday at night  , a lot people ask me how to do it, okay so I decided to write here to tell you guys. :)  It's pretty simple and I think you can make it too by yourself.

Rose Water

First off all , I pick all my roses petals and put in the big bowl , wash it 2-3 times,  here it is , oh make sure you are using organic roses .

Then you just need to boil it with mineral water until all the petals become white , when you use red roses then it will comes out with red water , and if you use yellow I think the water will be yellow, so cute right?

Then after you finished boil all the flowers, wait until its cool down and strain the rose water into jar or whatever you have in your kitchen , put it in the cooler to maintain the roses freshness .
I also use rose water for my face toner , I put it into small empty spray container that I have . Don't forget to put in the cooler , feel the fresh and rose smells when you use it :)

Here are some benefits of rose water :

1. Rosewater helps maintain the skin's pH balance, and also controls excess oil.

2. "Rose water has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness of irritated skin, get rid of acne, dermatitis and eczema. It is a great cleanser and aids in removing oil and dirt accumulated in clogged pores", says Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj, Skincare Expert.
3. Rose water helps hydrate, revitalise and moisturise the skin giving it with that refreshed look.

4. Due to its
antibacterial properties, rose water also aids in healing scars, cuts and wounds.

5. The
antioxidant properties of rose water help to strengthen skin cells and regenerate skin tissues.

6. Due to the astringent like properties it possesses, rose water helps clean pores and tone the skin. Applying rose water after steaming tightens capillaries, reduces redness and blotchiness.

7. The aroma of roses is said to be a powerful mood enhancer. It rids you of feelings of
anxiety and promotes emotional well-being, thereby making you feel more relaxed.

8. The nourishing and moisturising properties of rose water enhance the quality of hair. It is known to treat mild scalp inflammations and get rid of
dandruff. Rosewater works wonders as a natural conditioner and revitaliseshair growth.

9. The scent of rose water on your pillow also helps you sleep better after a long day, making you wake up refreshed.

10. It also helps aging skin, keeping fine lines and wrinkles at bay.

Rose Oil

Second one, I make my own rose oil, you can use coconut oil, jojoba oil or olive oil , its depend on you guys and you need to prepare small jar and some picked up roses petals, wash it before use and rinse it  for sure, because its need to mix with oil.

Put 1 cup of oils and all rose petals that you wanna use into the small jar, put into the boiled water and wait until its cool, pick the jar up from the water and wait at least 24 hours . Then all you need is to take out all the petals inside the jar , and strain the oils and put it in the new container, put another new clean rose petals to maintain the freshness. ( it's okay if you wanna add some rose essential oil into it )

And here are some benefits of rose oil :

Lung Treatment

Rose oil has been used for centuries to treat asthma, coughs, congestion and fever. The best way to do this is by filling a large bowl with near-boiling water, then placing 3 to 5 drops of rose oil into the bowl. As the rose oil heats in the water, it will release vapors that can be inhaled to treat your lungs and throat.

Skin Treatment

Roses are known for their ability to soothe skin irritations. You can purchase topical creams and lotions containing rose oil, but you can also add a drop or two of it into your own facial cream prior to application. Rose oil can also help reduce inflammation on the skin while helping to treat herpes and eczema, according to HealthMad.com.

Pain Relief

Using rose oil in a hot or cold compress can help treat pain associated with swelling, sprains and cramps. Regardless of whether you are using hot or cold water as a compress, add four to six drops of rose oil to the fluid before dipping a cloth or other material into the water. Wring out the excess water and apply this compress directly to your skin.
